Franklin DeCosta Remix

Argenis Brito Late Nite Mix

The flagship artist in the Auralism fleet, Coalition of the Killing lead off with Too Many Machines, where thick walls of static sit in a haze over a dub techno groove, building in atmosphere and intensity with sci-fi tinged vocoders and razor sharp synth stabs. The Argenis Brito Late Nite Mix dubs things out nicely, adding crisp percussion to contrast the dark grooves, while the Franklin DeCosta Remix is the late night option of the bunch, and wouldn't sound out of place in a particularly twisted session at Berlin's Panoramabar.

Remixes By

Franklin DeCosta
Berlin-based Franklin DeCosta's first releases (with 303 Nation's Patrick Vauillaume) appeared in 1995 on Fusion Records. Later, DeCosta, operating under his Tichy alias, showed up on various Frankfurt techno labels through the end of the '90s, further developing his trademark straight beats and frisky sound design. In 2003, he paired with producer Yapacc to form the Studiogemeinschaft project. Along with the infamous Frankfurt DJs Bo Irion and Miriam Schulte, Decosta and Yapacc founded the Green Empire DJ collective in 2004. Meanwhile, DeCosta has gained solo fame with releases on well-known labels including Trapez ltd, Karmarouge Noir, Einmaleins Musik, and Treibstoff. His singles entered the charts of Germany's Groove magazine, German dance charts, and the charts of DJs worldwide. DeCosta and Yapacc recently founded Green Empire Records, releasing their first tracks in the summer of 2007.

Argenis Brito
Few producers ride the precarious intersection between Latin swing and techno precision with more assurance than Caracas, Venezuela-born Argenis Brito. He began his career at a young age, singing in a local boy band at 13 and then playing bass guitar in Wag, a popular Venezuelan rock group. As an electronic producer, Brito cut his teeth alongside the likes of Dandy Jack and AtomTM on Jorge Gonzalez's GM and His Thinking Congas record. He went on to further collaborate with AtomTM as the vocalist for his "electrolatino" Señor Coconut project, while also delving into more dance floor-ready tracks with Chileans Pier Bucci and Luciano and Contexterrior Media's Jay Haze. He released his first solo outing, Sentidos Opuestos, a masterpiece of loopy, Latin-spiked grooves, in 2007—his latest double EP, Micro Mundo, was just released on Cadenza Records.
